Retaining Walls

Retaining walls began with railroad ties or maybe boulders back in the 70's. Today segmented wall block is the material of choice, with many manufacturers creating different sizes, shapes, textures, and colors, to compliment any home or office. We still install boulder walls, although the railroad tie wall is all but gone, due to the limited life on such a project. (usually around 15 years) Block on the other hand will last at least double that time, providing the installation was performed properly. A solid stone base, drainage behind the wall, and a level base course are some of the installation specifications of the manufacturers.
